Being a psychopath doesn't help you become a billionaire. Instead, being a billionaire helps you become a "psychopath". The reason isn't because the billionaire lacks empathy for average people, but because average people lose empathy for the billionaire.
2/ You see that when you get your first managerial job. You step up one level from the average employees and get a new perspective on them. All those pointless conflicts that employees have among themselves you now see are pointless.
3/ As a lowly software engineer, I was frustrated other engineers didn't listen to me. Then I became a manager and watched two employees fighting, each frustrated the other wasn't listening. My perspective changed once I rose above what either side was fighting for.
4/ "Infosec burnout" happens because people are frustrated they don't have the influence they deserve, that people don't listen to them. As you climb the hierarchy, your perspective on these things changes.
5/ For example, the model many have is "more budget", if only they had just a little bit more money, they could solve some pressing problem. This is a nonsense argument you realize is nonsense once you become a manager responsible for budget.

Lessons in anti-science: don't believe he evidence, but instead, believe the priest we call "Scientists". I mean, the globe is warming, but your belief in that should be driven by heeding the evidence, not by heeding the scientists.
Another lesson in science is the difference between objective evidence and subjective opinion. That the globe is warming is objective data, such as the satellite record pictured here. Whether this "catastrophic" is a subjective value judgement.
The problem we have with vaccines, climate change, and other issues based on science isn't because THEY reject the science, it's because activists like Neil deGrasse Tyson reject the principles of science, and instead argue the issues using principles other than science.

This is a common question. The answer is that routers use their "own IP address". In many cases, that's a 10.x.x.x (or 192.168.x.x) address local to their network. Indeed, it's not necessary for routers to have a public Internet address at all.
In other words, the question you should be asking why routers have public, routable IP addresses in the first place, instead of always using addresses that are only locally meaningful, like 10.x.x.x.
Remember that the source and destination IP addresses of a packet the router is routing are on the far ends of the network. Nowhere in the packet does it contain the router's IP address. QED: the router doesn't need an IP address.

In today's civics lesson: we live in a pluralistic society. That means it's okay for people to disagree about important things. His political view isn't unreasonable, and while I don't agree with it, it's not a big deal that he holds it.

Here are some ways that can help you become even more likable.
1. Positive attitude.

Everybody likes to be surrounded by positive people.

Practice maintaining a positive attitude.

Even if are faking it, you're conditioning your mind.

Eventually, you will become a positive person.
2. Be passionate.

People are drawn to passionate people.

Although, know your limit, don't be too passionate. You might come off as creepy.

All of these protests -- "B-b-but they're lying! We can see it ourselves! What are they thinking?" -- it is so frustrating that 2 years in and people still don't understand! They do not lie *despite* the fact that the truth is easily known. They do so *because* of it. Once again:
Ordinary politicians lie to deceive. They want you to believe an untruth. Fascists lie to assert dominance over truth itself. They bait their enemies into disputing them, which causes their supporters to rally to their side. The factual basis of the claim itself is irrelevant.
Some supporters may understand this on some level, others may not, it doesn't matter. The point is to declare that only the Leader determines what is true. Once truth is only an objective in a power struggle it can never be used to challenge the Leader. That is the goal.

Competence is knowing what to do in a situation and how to do it. It is not the same as excellence.
Excellence is dependent on other people, like judges, examiners, teachers, assessors, inspectors, auditors. But we can't control these people and whether they think we're excellent or not.
