Obama initially built family detention facilities in Texas and New Mexico holding thousands and sent others to small 100-bed facility in Pennsylvania.
Judge Dolly Gee ruled Obama was violating a 20yr case (Flores) by holding families longer than 20 days. (Absurd!)
As time went on, the Obama Admin just buckled, was overwhelmed by sheer volume of border crossers and gave up. Hence catch & release became norm. And here we are today.

Obama violated his own words thst US couldn’t allow illegal immigrants to just pour across border and that most would need to go back.
