Finally got to try out @reasonml Rely testing framework for Reason Native and wow, this is such a killer dev experience!
Inspired by the excellent @fbjest, but for full native Reason - tests start running in about 1ms. 🚀

The perf is really insane. You have thousands of tests to even notice that it has run (see the screenshot - 3,300 tests).
And we haven’t even parallelized the tests yet! This is just straight single core linear runs. Should see even more wins when splitting them onto different cores!

npm package malware is also a technology problem. Deps should be built at install time, on-host from original inspectable sources but npm practice is to build at package publish time so it runs everywhere w/out a build step. How badly you want JS to "not" be a compiled language!
So you have everyone turning their "JS" into *actual* JavaScript in a way that obscures the original intent, allowing things like the recent vulnerability to slip in easily. To fix this you need a completely different package management philosophy centered around.. Builds!
You can't easily take existing npm packages and run their publish steps at install time on your host, for many many reasons - these transpilation/minification toolchains are huge because they *could* be - they were just publish time dependencies that were dropped once published.

Hot take: Single page documentation is superior to documentation that spoon feeds three paragraphs at a time to you with prev/next pagers at the bottom.
1. Use command+f to search for things like you always do.
2. Easier to keyboard navigate.
3. Can still hyperlink to headers...
4. Instantly gives you all of the docs "offline". Just keep a browser tab open or save the HTML or print to pdf.
5. From maintainer's standpoint, no need to sign up for some service that you (might have to) pay to index your search.
6. Search works in offline mode too because you don't need to connect to a service.

my sister and I ventured clear across town to Pasadena to try out the new @Anthropologie A-plus line and maybe buy a piece to celebrate our birthdays. we timed it and we were asked “can we go ahead and start a room for you?” and “need any help, ladies?” seven times in 90 seconds.
just to make sure there is no confusion - this store was in an extremely white area, we were the only black women in the store, and I watched as the other customers shopped in peace.
This went on for fifteen minutes before my sister was forced to pull one of the employees aside and point out how excessive it was. They were scared we were going to steal, simple as that.

Wow. Just had my first #SARS experience and my biggest mistake was allowing myself get so comfortable in this town.

I didn’t even realize it was SARS until I left.
So i left my power bank at an office I’m freelancing close to my house. Receptionist dropped it with the bartender of a place next door. I’m supposed to be traveling early but I got back late so I had to head there pretty late to get it.
Went with my cousin. No light and phones were dead and I like their shrimp springroll so we sat down to use style and charge.

Got my power bank, tried to order Uber, no car available, Taxify was surging 2500 for a ride I paid 500🙄

Cousin said let’s just go take Keke N50

Day 12: Using ANSI escape sequences to make things printed to the terminal a bit more colorful. Learned that @ReasonML wants escape sequences in decimal (i.e. \027). #100DaysOfCode #ReasonML buff.ly/2ubnrf0
Still need to mess around with background colors and modifiers (e.g. bold, italics, underline).
