Metal debris, defective products and assorted junk — ladders, strings of lights, etc. — litter the planes. Major airlines have complained. It looks like the problems that contributed to the 737 crashes are part of a systemic breakdown at Boeing.
The juxtaposition between Boeing employees saying *on the record* that they wouldn’t fly on the 787 and Boeing execs saying their production quality has never been higher is...jarring.

Exclusive: Federal prosecutors and the @FBI are criminally investigating @DeutscheBank for money-laundering lapses, including its handling of suspicious activity reports related to Jared Kushner’s company. with @benprotess @WRashbaum nytimes.com/2019/06/19/bus…
As part of the investigation, the FBI recently contacted the lawyer for Tammy McFadden, the former Deutsche Bank compliance specialist who flagged Kushner Companies' 2016 Russian transactions -- and then was fired. We wrote about her last month: nytimes.com/2019/05/19/bus…
FBI agents also have been interviewing Val Broeksmit @BikiniRobotArmy, whose father Bill Broeksmit committed suicide in 2014. Val told me he has provided the FBI with internal @DeutscheBank documents and emails that he retrieved from his father's email accounts.

1/ Many countries have grounded their #Boeing737Max, except the #US & #Canada. @TheCurrentCBC spoke today with a former pilot, engineer, and aviation expert and litigator who said he wouldn't board a 737Max flight as he explained why this plane is not safe (transcript tomorrow).
2/ #Boeing has been working to fix problems on the 737Max by acknowledging, in corporate language, its many problems. The plane has a tendency to nose up, its softwares make the plane do things that the pilots don't want to do, and it is a new way of flying.
3/ Despite its many problems and new approach to flying, Boeing sold the plane as it would sell many others without requiring special training from airlines because training requires money and it would have turned them away from buying the plane. #Boeing737Max

The grand jury has summoned more than one witness, the people said, and the case is ongoing. The people declined to identify those who had been called to testify.
