And now #SB50 vote count is final from committee today. It passed 6-1. Yes votes: Democrats @ilike_mike, @Scott_Wiener, @Jimbealljr and @Senator_Hurtado and Republicans @SenatorMoorlach and @CASenatorJim. No vote: @SenateHertzberg

TODAY: State lawmakers will hear for the first time #SB50, the bill that allows four- to five-story apartments near transit and more. Unlike last year’s version of the legislation authored by Sen. @Scott_Wiener, SB 50 should advance out of its first committee. Here’s why: (1/6)
@Scott_Wiener The first reason is pretty obvious. Senate leader @ToniAtkins created a new housing committee and put Wiener in charge of it. That’s where the bill will be heard today. It’s rare for a committee chair’s bill to get killed in their own committee. But there are more reasons. (2/6)
Unlike last year, SB 50 has the support of the state’s construction workers’ union and more robust support from environmental groups. And many who represent tenants — while still wary — have not taken a position while their immediate opposition helped crush the bill in 2018 (3/6)

State @SenBenHueso has introduced SB 615 which would make it harder for the public to file open records lawsuits. When Hueso was San Diego council president he pretended his request for staff bonuses didn’t exist only to cancel them once they became public voiceofsandiego.org/topics/governm…

@SenBenHueso @DotKohlhaas To repeat, Hueso said no records existed even though he had requested for $11,000 in bonuses for his city staff as he was leaving for the state Legislature. But there was actually a memo from his staff that said “Please contact me when the checks are ready!"

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether

Today (5/5/2018), a federal magistrate denied Mueller's request to continue the May 9, 2018 initial appearance and arraignment.

Let's look at the motions...
On 4/11/2018, counsel entered appearances on behalf of Defendant Concord. That same day, they demanded information from the Special Counsel - including details of surveillance and names of witnesses.
4/20/2018: the Special Counsel responded, asking if they were authorized to receive service on behalf of Concord.

Concord answered the Special Counsel: "Since your communication to me of the attached summons does not comply with FRCrP 4, I am returning it to you."

Anti-trans group "Transgender Trend" have released a "Schools Resource Pack" which is a toolkit that will empower the neglect of trans young people, dressed up as a scientific, well-spoken document.

I'll be going through it and breaking it down on Twitter later.
To dispel the obvious: yes, I've read it. Yes, I understand everything in it. Yes I'm actually an expert in this. Yes, I've a duty to act in the best interests of children. Yes, I'm trans. No, that doesn't create a conflict of interest.
This stuff would be laughable if it wasn't so dangerous. It looks good to otherwise inexperienced teachers, and *will* be used to ignore the needs of trans and questioning young people.
