Good morning, Wisconsin! Up and at ‘em.
Today’s the 7th Congressional District Convention in Marshfield. Set course for due North.
Every single summer when I was growing up, my family drove to Vilas County on the Northern tip of Wisconsin. About half the drive was what’s now in the 7th Congressional District. One of the most beautiful places on earth. When I go to a calm place in my mind, that’s the one.
From the launch of this campaign for WI Dem chair, I’llargued that we can’t take anyone for granted and we can’t write anyone off. That means organizing seriously in rural areas, urban, suburbs—everywhere, across race & ethnicity, in every community.
There’s no cookie cutter strategy for organizing. What works in my neighborhood in Dane County might not work in Ashland County. But that’s not a reason not to organize in both places. And, in fact, we do organize in both, and Tony Evers won both, and Trump must lose both.
Morning dawns.
Republicans in Wisconsin lost the vote for Assembly. But thanks to their gerrymander, they won so many seats they’re just 3 shy of a supermajority. Now they’re gunning for a special election in the 64th. It’s all hands on deck to elect @Tip4WI this Tue. No sleeping on this one.
