Sometimes even kinda crappy-quality photos can be cool.

My only excuse is that I was in a kayak and this was the first frame in the series. The second frame is sharper, but this is still the one that caught the dynamism of porpoising orcas swimming at about 20 knots the best.
FWIW, this was the next frame. It was actually quite distant; this is pulled up on my telephoto already, and then enlarged significantly.
I had better luck with a later sequence in closer, but it was only a single whale porpoising. For some reason I love that shot of the pair the best.
Though this probably is the best shot I took that day. Also, the one that's in BW on the first page of the book was from this day. June 25, 2012.
