This is hilarious, sorta, since this guy is just blowing smoke. I have a bit of history with Steve McLaughlin. Some links and a short thread below.
So back in May 2016 I put together a roundup of some of the nuttier "lands rights" and "constitutionalist" extremists running for office in the West for SPLC. McLaughlin, who was making his first run for WA lands commissioner, was listed.

This elicited much wailing and gnashing of teeth from McLaughlin's campaign. I agreed to meet and interview him and get the story straight. This is the piece that resulted, in which we agreed to withdraw his listing as an extremist.

Hilariously, I found out that in 2018, McLaughlin addressed the far-right gathering in Marble, WA (part of Shea's clan) and told the crowd I was a liar.

Funny thing is, he has never asked for a correction. Because he knows I have the recording of our interview.

Sometimes even kinda crappy-quality photos can be cool.

My only excuse is that I was in a kayak and this was the first frame in the series. The second frame is sharper, but this is still the one that caught the dynamism of porpoising orcas swimming at about 20 knots the best.
FWIW, this was the next frame. It was actually quite distant; this is pulled up on my telephoto already, and then enlarged significantly.
I had better luck with a later sequence in closer, but it was only a single whale porpoising. For some reason I love that shot of the pair the best.

In one of the graduate programs where I teach, I do a semester course on the Old Testament, and a semester on course the New Testament.

The students who take them end up reading around 90% of the entire Bible, and I re-read it along with them.
Leviticus 19 tells us in absolute terms that the productive in society are bound to share and protect the poor and the vulnerable. That’s the “gleanings of the field” passage. The edge of my field does not belong to me, but to the hungry.

I think the starting point for commentary like this is to say that no death of any Nigerian at the hands of bandits & criminals is acceptable or justifiable. Even a single death is one too many. And one of the primary responsibilities of any Govt is security. That’s not in doubt.
So, this matter of ‘No Arrests No Prosecutions.’ It’s very far from true. The simplest of Google searches puts the lie to it.Also the Police regularly put out statements on large-scale arrests. I’ll share more links as part of this thread. This from Kaduna google.com/amp/s/punchng.…
