Jeremy Corbyn, head of the UK Labour party, wrote a foreword for a book on imperialism that blamed…the Jews. Sorry, "men of a single & peculiar race who have many centuries of financial experience … in a unique position to control the policy of nations." thetimes.co.uk/article/corbyn…
There are a few possible explanations for this:

(a) Corbyn doesn't read books which he writes introductions for
(b) Corbyn agrees with the anti-Semitism
(c) Corbyn doesn't recognize basic coded anti-Semitism when it's staring him in the face

None look great. I lean toward (c).
So it looks like the possibility that Jeremy Corbyn didn't read the anti-Semitic book that he wrote the introduction for is out. He makes specific reference to its contents:

This garbage is exactly why British Jews find it so galling when Corbyn repeats ad nauseam that "I've opposed racism and anti-Semitism my entire life." He's been in the room with it over and over again and said nothing at all, when he wasn't actively praising those spreading it.

CORBYN: I'd like to invite you to parliament!

BOOK: The Jews control the economy and the Rothschilds are behind all the wars
CORBYN: What a great tome!

But Corbyn has opposed anti-Semitism his entire life.

I get why people are upset that Farrakhan is labeled as "far-right." It's, well, complicated. He's a misogynist pro-Trump anti-Semitic homophobe. At the same time, his cultural salience comes from progressives like the Women's March leaders who praise, work with, and promote him.
THIS. If we spent less time fighting over the partisanship of a source of bigotry and more time fighting the actual bigotry, there'd be a lot less bigotry.
Consider the energy spent on this platform obsessing over the partisan affiliations of anti-Semites. Compare that to the amount of energy spent obsessing over the actual anti-Semitism and beating it back.

You now understand why we still have a lot of anti-Semitism.

The idea that Trump is an ally against anti-Semitism has never squared with what comes out of his unscripted mouth. Here he is going full dual loyalty, after pretending to care when Ilhan Omar raised the same tropes.
This is your periodic reminder that the notion that Trump cannot say anything anti-Semitic because Ivanka is Jewish is as dumb as the idea that he can't be a misogynist because Ivanka is a woman.

How anti-Zionism is used to legitimize anti-Semitism:

There is basically nothing you can say or do against Jews that will not be defended by anti-Semites as mere "criticism of Israel." And this is now official state policy in a major European country, which will only encourage more bigots to go after Jews there.
I hope the folks who are very vocal that criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitism will be loudly protesting against Norway now, to make clear that this is not acceptable and taints legitimate criticism of Israel.

Unless, of course, they don't really care about anti-Semitism?

Actually feeling a little ill reading this by @Dannythefink. If you can't access, in 2011 Jeremy Corbyn wrote a forward to John Atkinson Hobson's 'Imperialism', a book which blamed imperialism on financial houses controlled by a "single and peculiar race" thetimes.co.uk/article/corbyn…
As far as I can tell from the article, Imperialism itself doesn't specifically mention "Jews" but his book of 2 years earlier 'The War in South Africa: Its Causes and Effects' does.

So either he knew or (as with The Mural) it was staring him in the face but he didn't realise
But for anyone wondering why Labour sometimes seems reticent to discipline those who blame the 'Rothschilds' and the international Jewish conspiracy for the worlds's evils, it may simply be because the leadership of the party subscribes/subscribed to similar world views

One of the issues with this term is that it has 2 commonly used meanings: one purely economic, the other more politically/philosophically prescriptive.

Most of the common (mis)uses stem from conflating these two notions.
