I see the @FreeBeacon is still included in @Poynter's list. I know for a fact that their staff shares my reporting so I'd love to hear any explanation for why my work and the work of my colleaguesis now being deemed unreliable without so much as a single accusation of innacuracy.

What a disgusting exercise in bad faith from an organization that's supposed to be about improving and promoting journalism. Instead, they're creating tabloid-level listicles to smear reporters without offering even a single piece of evidence. Shame on you, @Poynter.

Barrett Golding should be ashamed. @Poynter should be ashamed. Further retractions should be issued and the piece should be taken down until somewhere there can give actual specific reasons why they're labeling a site as unreliable that are backed up with actual evidence.

This kind of crap really pisses me off, in case you all haven't noticed.

Funny how @poynter lists the Free Beacon and Washington Examiner as unreliable news sources but not, say, Think Progress or Mother Jones.

By the way, @Poynter is essentially using this poorly-vetted list to create an ad boycott movement against the sites on it. Their behavior is insidious.

@Poynter And how did the Free Beacon get on @Poynter's smear list? It's based on an unavailable list created by a single "media studies" professor at Merrimack University. I'm not even kidding. The link to the list doesn't even work.

@Poynter Based on her recent publications, what would you say this particular professor's area of expertise is?

@Poynter Should she, or any single person for that matter, have the power to label the work of hundreds of professional journalists "UnNews" that's worthy of an ad boycott? I thought we were supposed to be against that sort of thing, @Poynter.

@Poynter Next time @Poynter complains about Trump's attacks on the media just remember that they've created a literal journalist blacklist. Hypocrites.
