Trump should have the video of Cesar Sayoc's confession, if he gave one, posted. If his motive was to spread fear he failed because he was pretty much mocked about his inert bombs & bad spelling. Even some of his recipients didn't give off a fearful expression.
If he thought he was helping Republicans, I'd love to hear his explanation as to how doing this was supposed to be helpful to Republicans. Feeding the media narrative that Trump supporters are deranged crazy people seems counterproductive to that effort.
Did he have a personal grievance with each of his intended targets because he did not like how they spoke about Trump? How did he think sending inert devices to those people was going to change their tune? Thankfully, they weren't active devices.
Did he send the inert devices because he knew he'd get caught? Was he hoping to be caught for his 15 minutes of fame that the media will turn into 2 years of fame for the 2020 election cycle? The guy wasn't exactly living well if he was living out of that van as some reports say.
I'd just like to know what the logic was in his mind of how this was somehow helpful to Republicans or Trump. He certainly did not intimidate any of the recipients of his packages. He might as well sent them a pile of golf balls, he'd have had the same effect of not scaring them.
Make no mistake, the guy needs to prosecuted to the full extent of the law regardless what he says his motive was. Nobody should be defending this guy's actions either. Unlike the guy that shot Scalise, this guy's alive and should be studied thoroughly.
