Draining the Swamp in New Jersey.
NJ authorities have filed criminal referrals with DOJ related to illegal lobbying to secure huge corporate tax breaks in 2013. Democrat connected lawyer wrote tax breaks specifically for his clients

Real estate lawyer, Kevin D. Sheehan, whose influential law firm. Parker McCay, has close ties to Democratic politicians & legislative leaders in New Jersey. Democrats allowed him to insert language into the draft of the bill to help his firms clients.
How close are they to Democratic Party leaders? Their CEO is a member of the Norcross family. One of his brothers all but runs the party machine in southern Jersey & the other is a US Congressman & former NJ state senator. One of the brother's got an $86M dollar tax break in it!
The total cost of these Swampy endeavor was $11B dollars given out by corrupt politicians to small & large corporations with connections. The kind of connections that get language inserted into laws that only apply to their clients!
Only the Swamp could find a way to spend an average of more than $500K to create each job! But I am sure Subaru was happy with the law firm for that tax break!
Well in the old DOJ, those charges for Swampy acts might not have lead anywhere. But with the Trump DOJ, public corruption & Swampy deals are a priority target. Especially if it can be used to flip a Swampy law firm against it's clients!
I am all in favor of giving across the board tax benefits to help business & lure business to a jurisdiction. But that is the opposite of allowing Swampy lawyers, politicians, & their clients to rig the system to their benefit.

Very interesting article on the Mueller Report lining up with the Barr Memo on Obstruction that he sent to Rosenstein in June 2018. Almost like Barr was asked to write it as a rebuttal to the Special Counsel's theory of twisting the obstruction law.

The author thinks Barr wrote it to check Mueller & Rosenstein, then Trump appointed Barr to implement his own memo's view. But I don't think so for several reasons that I will explain.
As the article points out, Barr directed his memo at the theory proposed by "Mueller's team" that Trump violated § 1512(c)(2). Not Mueller, Mueller's team. It seems certain that Barr was tipped off to the arguments that Mueller's team were making almost a year ago. But why?

Well even NYT's can't ignore the connections of Joe & Hunter Biden to the Ukrainian corruption. That's progress at least! They try to blame the renewed interest about it on Trump & Giuliani but can't deny the Swamp connections are real!

Nothing like using a billion dollars of US taxpayer money to extort a foreign government into firing a prosecutor who was investigating you & your son for corruption! Glad he is the leading Democratic candidate for President too! Show the Swamp Joe!
Connections so Swampy even the Obama State Department were worried about it's effect on the VP's diplomatic efforts.

Even NYTs is covering how HS seniors wonder if their friends got into colleges because of cheating? #ButNothingsHappening
To read about how the #AdmissionsScandal is being used to wake people up, then expanded by going after some of the parents for far bigger Swamp crimes. Like $1.3 Billion in healthcare fraud!
So how do you ramp up the pressure to flip the parents? First you charge them with bigger charges, fraud, then money laundering, then tax evasion.
If that isn't enough, threaten to charge their children! They won't like sending their babies to State Penn.

So here’s the thing. I’ve told you all repeatedly that I trust Scott Schools who would be the senior career official referenced below in Sessions’ statement. I stand behind that now. I trust Schools (and Rod) appropriately and honorably on what McCabe did. I also trust /1
Robin Ashton who is career (not political) & the head of OPR. So what this tells me is 2 things: (1) McCabe screwed up something bad enough that Robin and Scott supported this; and (2) Sessions just put the icing on the politicization of DOJ cake. What is important to realize /2
Is that Sessions did not HAVE to fire McCabe. He had discretion to let the clock run out and let McCabe retire. He did not have to fire McCabe and usually - in order to protect the political folks - Sessions wouldn’t put his name on this. Sessions is on his knees for Trump and /3
