This bill apparently requires "re-implantation" of ectopic pregnancies.

This... is not an actual thing that can be done. Despite ancient Greek beliefs, women are not clay pots. Fetuses are not plants that can be transplanted at will.

The idea that people would write legislation without any idea how the biology of the thing they're legislating is horrifying. The idea that they don't CARE is bone chilling.

Here's the actual relevant text:

(a) "Nontherapeutic abortion" includes drugs or devices used to prevent the implantation of a fertilized ovum.

(b) "Nontherapeutic abortion" does not include either of the following:

(i) A procedure for an ectopic pregnancy, that is intended to reimplant the fertilized ovum into the pregnant woman's uterus;

(ii) A procedure, in an emergency situation, that is medically necessary to save the pregnant woman's life.

Note that:

1) Prevention of implantation is not abortion. This is a thing that happens ALL THE TIME naturally.

2) There is no such thing as re-implantation. It's completely impossible given modern science. That's simply not how implantation of eggs, or placental biology works
