From early Dec 2018 to early April 2019, the proportion of registered voters who had heard at least "a little" about the GND more than TRIPLED from 17% to 59%.

Those who have heard "nothing at all" decreased by half (down from 82% to 41%).
Conservative Republicans (+59 pts) have increased the most in awareness, with smaller increases among Democrats.

Currently, the proportion of conservative Republicans who have heard "a lot" about the GND (38%) is around *double* that of liberal Democrats (17%).
We described the GND to respondents and asked how much they support/oppose. Since December, the largest decreases in support are among Republicans -- resulting in a large increase in partisan polarization.
Check out this massive interaction. In April 2019, Republicans who have heard "nothing at all" support the GND just as often as Dems.

But only 4% (!!) of Republicans who have heard "a lot" about the GND support it. 🤯
So what/where are Republicans hearing about the GND?

We can't establish causality with these data, but we can look for clues.

Here's one: A whopping 82% of Rs who watch Fox News frequently have heard about the GND.
Basically, more Fox News = more awareness and less support.
Overall, this is a vivid instance of dramatic political polarization occurring at a national level in a short amount of time.

Kudos to our whole team for contributing to this work! 🙏🤓
