I think probably the worst thing about people like this woman is the idea that if you believe in lawful, responsible firearm ownership that you want people to die. Join me anytime in supporting School Shield or @ProjChildSafe .
Even more, they claim to care about safety but do nothing to actually support safety — beyond exploit tragedies for political power and punishment of the law-abiding.
Thoughtful, genuine discussion is disallowed because accusing moms and dads who disagree with them on this issue of supporting child murder is the preferred go-to. It’s the only way they converse. For them, mental issues are off the table for discussion. We never get anywhere.
Take one look at my mentions and see. Every insult is the same, tons of name-calling, very, very rare is the anti-gun advocate who can discuss solutions and root of problem without becoming personally offended that someone challenged them with polite dissent.
How many of these people have raised money for school security (🙋🏻‍♀️)? How many of them have donated to help schools fund SRO programs (🙋🏻‍♀️), or to safe storage and lock programs (🙋🏻‍♀️)? How many of them have actually acted BEYOND name-calling on Twitter?
BTW — I have repeatedly and publicly asked the big gun control groups and their heads to partner on 2A education and firearm safety and they’ve refused every single time. They are focused on power.
You’ll never see a prime time townhall formatted for genuine, thoughtful discussion of root problems and potential solutions because civility isn’t profitable. Others view civility as compromise. Still others see any effort for common ground as a limit to their power grab.
btw — if you ask the folks, those who think name-calling is legit persuasion and those who like it, to support those education and safety groups I listed, you’ll hear only crickets. But YOU’RE the one who doesn’t care or something 🙄
