To give you a sense of my mood right now. I just got an email about the first of two bachelorette parties for my friends who are getting married and I text my partner “This is why gay marriage should be illegal. Two bachelorette parties is so expensive” 😂
I really like this couple but the question is: Do I like THEIR friends this much?

Spoiler alert: I don’t like most people. Most people suck.
Is it rude for me to ask if these people are all white and/or straight women?
Actual email I just sent: “Ooh girl, you know I love you and [fiancé’s name redacted] but this is a lot. I’m gonna need to the tea on all these people I don’t know before I can commit. How white and/or straight is this party gonna be?” My pain brain makes social niceties hard.

Fuck. Just saw a tweet reminding us that Alabama is making abortion a felony & felons can’t vote so soon enough massive amount of people, mostly poor & black women, will be labeled as felons & unable to vote. Further expansion of the prison industrial complex & the new Jim Crow.
We often think of the PIC as targeting men of color, particularly black men, but these new laws in states with large poor black populations are clearly intended to disenfranchise & legally enslave more black people.
THIS is why we need coalitional thinking. THIS is why we need a #reproductivejustice framework that sees prison abolition & abortion rights & voting laws as all interconnected. Reproductive justice & racial justice will always be inherent intertwined.

Let’s talk about the difference between #SexStrike & #StopFuckingShittyMen. Sex strike proposes that all women stop having sex (with men its implied I think, no clue if queer women are supposed to stop fucking each other here) in order to punish men or raise awareness.
As some have already noted, this perpetuates the idea that sex is the only bargaining chip women have & that sex is the only reason men will listen to us. I’m not on board at all. But folks may think that the Sex Strike is no different than my recent proposal.
#StopFuckingShittyMen is about centering women’s sexual needs (don’t fuck men who don’t care about your pleasure or who make you feel bad about your body) as well as refusing to participate in sex with men who don’t deserve our time, attention or bodies.

Two key things I learned about myself over the last two years:

- I am absolutely terrible at keeping myself organized in any coherent way.

- I adapt extremely rapidly to change.

Maintaining good habits is THE priority. The rest of the machine oils itself.
For doing really transformative work, you really want to build on your strengths.

For being any kind of sane person, you'll want to shore up weaknesses.

That entrepreneurship encourages the former -really heavily- gives you a good idea of why innovative people are so unstable.
I could probably start to optimize my skills for very high output. What would happen:

- Burnout
- Worsened relationships
- Poor self-care
- Losing track of bigger picture

Right now, my goals are entirely orientated towards sanity first.
