1. God’s original intention for our universe includes billions of humans, probably more. In God’s original plan, it was not just one man; obviously God saw billions of people that He will need to fulfill His plan on this planet. #Marriage
2. Man’s original purpose is to manage the earth on God’s behalf. So, God created one man and one woman for the propagation of human race. Genesis 2:18 #Marriage
3. I believe that the composite idea in the creation of the man and woman was for them to have dominion of this planet. God gave man the capacity to dominate this planet and part of the capacity God gave him was the reproduction after his own kind. #Marriage
4. In creating the man and woman and giving them power to bring into existence little humans, God created the family unit as the first basic institution of the society. #Marriage
5. I believe that the family unit was created to provide a structure for the cultivation of humans, not just to give birth to them and walk away, but that they will be cultivated into sound human beings functioning in God’s image. #Marriage
6. The marriage institution has evolved and the changes that have happened in our environment have influenced the marriage institution. The rate of change is different from culture to culture. #Marriage
7. With women’s education and empowerment, marriage is no longer a major means for the survival for many women. Centuries ago, the major means of survival for woman was to get married and make a home while the man’s primarily role was to earn a living. #Marriage
8. As the causes for women empowerment advanced and they were allowed to get education we found out that they can function just like men, fill crucial roles just like men, practice almost all men’s profession, solve problems, invent and innovate. #Marriage
9. Women are now more skilled, & their roles have changed from being home keepers with the men mainly as the bread winners. The implication of education & empowerment for a woman means that instead of being married off as teenager, she will likely marry at a later age. #Marriage
10. Some people still go into marriage holding on to those old ideas; they want to do marriage exactly the way their parents or grandparents did it, then find that something is not working. Things are changing and the roles in marriage are changing too. #Marriage
11. Before, people leveraged marriage to build wealth; it was a sign of progress, but now they want to be economically empowered before they marry. Now, a woman doesn’t want to be a liability in the marriage, she wants to achieve something significant before marriage. #Marriage
12. How people meet and date is also changing, relationships have been redefined. Social media has redefined friendship; people are friends on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter; there are dating sites and people go there to look for someone to date. #Marriage
13. Also, people can now relieve themselves of sexual pressure with the aid of Technology (e.g Pornography) and the use of Sex Toys resulting in later marriage because in the past one, needed to be married to relieve sexual pressure. #Marriage
14. Before now, the opportunity to commit adultery was quite limited in the sense that you had to meet people physically to build relationships but now it is easier to commit adultery due to advancements in technology. Homes are breaking; divorce rate is on the increase #Marriage
15. The marriage institution is under massive attack and the truth is that the trouble started from the first family in the bible. If Satan wants to make the society dysfunctional, attack God’s plans and purposes for our planet; he will attack the marriage institution. #Marriage
16. We need to discuss how the changes in our environment are affecting the marriage institution and find some guidance on God’s word to tackle it. #Marriage
17. Though things have evolved, one thing has not changed, God’s original intention to populate our earth with humans & for humans to exercise dominion over his creation. That original unit, that structure that God created is still needed in our planet now. Malachi 2:15 #Marriage
18. The big issue is how we treat each other and our capacity for Love. That capacity is obviously decreasing and as God’s covenanted people we need to address that. God wants us to raise Godly people on this planet and to raise Godly people; we have to be Godly people. #Marriage
19. We have to stay grounded in God’s original intention while being adaptable to the changes that are going on. Can we leverage the technology; leverage the changes that are going on to enhance the marriage institution rather than to decimate it? #Marriage
20. As a 21st century person that wants to fulfill God’s plans and purposes, you’ve got to determine and be led by the Spirit of God whether God wants you to marry or not. Jesus and Paul did not marry because of their understanding of their destiny. (1Cor. 7:32-37) #Marriage
21. One of the things we need to stop is making people feel their lives are not complete until they get married. God has a design for each person and each person has to find it. #Marriage
22. The greatest evil been perpetuated right now is the fact that people are having serious identity issues; people are finding it difficult to discover who they are, and that’s why people are being plagued by depression and discouragement in our day and age. #Marriage
23. This is not a day to label anybody or to be carried around by every wind of doctrine. This is a time for you to cultivate your relationship with God and to have an idea of what His plans and purposes are for your lives. #Marriage
24. This is a day for you to learn as much as you can about the marriage institution; learn as much as possible as you can about marriage (Hosea 4:6) and develop the capacity to love (1John 3:16). #Marriage
25. One of the major things destroying marriages is selfishness, self-centeredness. When two people that are lovers of themselves come into marriage, it is certain that things will break down. The only way things work in God’s system is through sacrifice. #Marriage
