This already happened in the US. What a lot of ppl don't know is that the same second-wave feminists who were pushing for legal abortion were also fighting against involuntary sterilization...
Involuntary sterilization was a thing well into the 20th century with the state of NC not shutting their program down until the 1970's...
The great Fannie Lou Hamer was subjected to what many black women referred to as "Mississippi apendectomy". And this happened without her knowledge shortly after she gave birth to her youngest child...
And she didn't have much recourse, either. In the 1920's, in "Harlan v. Kentucky", SCOTUS ruled that states could involuntarily sterilize "feeble-minded" people...
Incidentally, the plaintiff in the case wasn't at all "feeble-minded." She was teen girl who had been impregnated during a rape by a family member. Her insistence on telling the truth about her daughter's parentage got her institutionalized. And, no, she wasn't allowed to...

Although SCOTUS claimed that states could justify sterilizing mentally ill/intellectually disabled ppl, many states sterilized poor and/or people of color...
I wouldn't put it past these "heartbeat bill" assholes to try to revive involuntary sterilization. After all, sterilizing certain people (aka WOC's) while compelling others (read: white women) to give birth I'd a great way to reverse the "browning of America" trend.

I hear a lot of talk about how women should "just say no" or fight back when men inappropriately touch /invade their space. I've learned from experience that that doesn't always work. True story: back in the mid-2000's I got a job in the bldgs and grounds dept of a CUNY school...

As a woman I am sick of women not owning their part & responsibility. If you get insanely drunk & black out at parties, you bear some responsibility for what happens to you. If you are drunk or high & behave overtly sexual, to men you just met you put yourself in danger.
Let's face it young women in college act incredibly stupid and put themselves in a lot of danger. Does that mean that they asked to be assaulted no? But would they have been assaulted had they not put themselves in situations that made it much more likely that they would be, YES!
Don't go to a club, introduce yourself to a guy, shake hands, start dancing, rub your booty in his crotch, & then accuse the guy of toxic masculinity. Don't send out mixed messages! It is your responsibility to take care of yourself.

Alright ayo it's @Claystanman here and for #BlackHistoryMonth we're thinking it'll be a good idea to try and spread knowledge of the history of Black American/African solidarity with and black folks' presence in #SouthAsian resistance.
Bayard Rustin, a gay black man who worked in movements for civil rights, socialism, and gay rights (later known as one of MLK's foremost organizers) organized the Free India Committee & was often arrested for protesting against British colonialism in Africa and India in the 40s.
Bayard's work in supporting the Indian independence movement was reflective of his internationalist approach.

He also participated in the March for Survival at the Thai-Cambodian border in 1980, and in 1982 founded the National Emergency Coalition for Haitian Rights.
