WHATSAPP RULES FOR GROUPS

Are you a member of some truely annoying whatsapp groups that forget the reason they were created?

I was pissed one morning on the crap being posted on my estate resident whatsapp group so I decided to post a set of rules. Feel free to use them.

Dear All, I would like to sincerely appreciate the Chairman for creating this group. I have not posted a single thing since its creation mainly because of the the completely unnecessary posts some of us make here. It is dangerous to ignore the aim of this group.

We are members of many many whatsapp groups, for promotional stuff, jokes, personal details, religious stuff, political stuff, please form another group and add all the residents that want to hear that to the group and have fun.

This group is first and foremost for ALL matters that have DIRECT impact on the wellbeing of ALL the RESIDENTS of AA. So your simple filter can be, will this thing I am about to post meet this “ALL” criteria?

If you post an advert, yes SOME residents may find it useful, that is SOME not ALL so it doesn’t qualify. If you post a religious ceremony, it is obvious you don’t know the religious leanings of ALL so a no no, same for politics and all.

On the other hand, SECURITY of our estate is a number one issue we must know about (not security in general, security matters of our estate), MEETINGS and OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS is another obligation we ALL must meet. DUES, same thing.

Details of a NEW RESIDENT is something we should ALL be interested in. There was a recent post on how to register for PVC, this is a civic responsibility for ALL of us.

The danger of ignoring these rules is, we begin to ignore all info posted to this group, this means critical information like the attempted ROBBERY of a resident will not be know by All as they wade through the absolutely unnecessary crap we irresponsibly post here.

Pls I want at all times to be confident that when any message is posted to this group I can prioritize to read it immediately because I know it is critical information that affects ALL of us unlike the thousands of unread messages I have in 10s of other whatsapp groups.

So, simply ask yourself, will this message be directly applicable to ALL residents (group members), if the answer is no, stop your fingers from typing.

Well, after sending these sets of simple rules out, the group behaved itself for only a few days before going back to their ‘evil’ ways 🤣🤣🤣. We need whatsapp police
