Good morning friends and fans this is a recap of a true life story I published on social media about 8 months ago but as I speak justice has not been done. Please fellow Nigerians let's all join hands to bring the culprit to book.
On behalf of Afolabi Moses Family, I, Anu Moses write to inform you well meaning Nigerians about the death of our brother, Obayomi Moses which we suspect a foul play. The deceased was working as manager in one Saamhany Hotel, 187 old Ipaja Rd, Funmilayo Bus Stop, Agege,
owned by Mr Richard Olumide Arohunmolase, a former civil servant with Lagos State Government who happens to be his sister (Lola Arohunmolase) husband.
Prior to his death, there had been an issue concerning our late parents' property at 11 Tonade Street, Ikeja, Lagos, whose documents have been in Lola's custody. She held onto these documents for more than ten years,
which the whole family had clamored that she should released so that the property can be developed but she vehemently refused with the support of her husband.
Around May this year, the immediate & the extended family met with her and ordered her to bring the documents to the next meeting.Instead of her bringing the documents to the meeting, the deceased, Yomi called us that Lola and her husband brought the documents to him at the hotel
He said Mr Richard personally handed the documents to him, begging him not to release them to any member of the family and he does not want to see any member of the family in his hotel.
Sometime in July, the deceased called Deji (my immediate elder brother) and I, that he has some information as regards the documents with him. We went and we met at a bar two bus stops away from the hotel. He said he had been living in fears ever since he was given the documents
that from the attitudes and utterances of the couple, he was convinced beyond reasonable doubt, that they had forged the documents and used same as collateral for loan.
These are what the deceased told us as he handed the documents over to us, that he will find a way to tell them that he has handed over the documents to the family. That was the last time we saw him until his death.
Some weeks interval, after he handed the documents over, an unknown person called our eldest sister Ronke, with the deceased phone number, that he had passed on. It was Ronke our eldest sister that broke the news to other members of the family.
Lola and her husband, Mr. Richard didn't deem it fit to call any family member till date.
The entire family believe that Yomi's death has to do with the information he gave and the handing over of the documents to the family. Though Yomi has a health history of asthma which he had managed very well for the past 38 years.
But the position he was found at his death is questionable as he was found squatting on the floor shirtless with his trouser on and his inhaler was in his pocket.
There was no struggle of any sort. That position is questionable. I must not forget to state that the family members were not allowed to see his corpse by the armed police officers that Mr. Richard called earlier before we got to the hotel.
After much pleading we were allowed to see his corpse two hours after.
I and the deceased are the closest in the family to the hotelier and his wife. I've heard Lola several times saying she made her husband what he is today whenever they quarrel.
She personally told me her husband had been living on loan because he had a bank manager friend, but i was too naive to ask what he used as collateral knowing fully well that he had nothing .
This was a man that was living in a face to face apartment in Agege before he met my sister and suddenly become rich. Even his friends call him "emergency millionaire".
The family demanded 4 Yomi's corpse 4 burial, but Mr Richard refused since he was d one that deposited it in d mortuary. He gave d family some conditions to sign some documents & also sign an affidavit 4 him because he has a political ambition in future which d family objected to
The case was reported to The Nigeria Police, Dopemu Division, Agege by the family and was handle by one Sergeant Ahmed who happens to be the IPO. from there it was referred to state criminal investigation department, Panti, Lagos State under Supol Gafar.
A shabby investigation was carried out, the family members were not carried along, we were not called for questioning, the hotel was not sealed as business continued as usual. As a result of all these, the family was advised to write petition to the Investigative department Abuja
knowing fully well that Mr Richard as bought his way out in Panti, Lagos.
Our petition was acknowledged and three officers were sent to Lagos from Abuja for investigations. The team was led by one inspector Halidu Ahmadu.
They interrogated us, took our statements, and went to Panti to get the case file. Later in the day, they called to tell us that they had sent Mr Richard and his wife, Lola an invitation letter, to report in Abuja on the 6th Nov. 2018.
Few days to the d-day, officer Halidu told the family that Mr Richard's lawyer called him and demanded the date be postponed to 14th November, which he obliged to. His excuse was that he granted their request so they won't have an excuse whatsoever not to turn up.
As we speak, no action has been taken by the police. When officer Halidu was called and asked whats the next step, he became incoherent and lost for words. What happened is quite obvious, Mr Richard has bought his way again.
This is the third month, and my brother is still in the morgue because Mr Richard and his wife refused to release his corpse for burial and kept buying his way everywhere.
Good Nigerians, please come to my aid , I want justice for my dear brother, the pain of losing him suddenly and untimely under suspicious conditions is excruciating. The feeling that he has not been buried is tormenting.
Please use your good office and come to my aid as this man is bragging everywhere that he is above the law, and with money he can do anything and go scot free.
