2/4 Only days ago Secker was publicly inciting hatred against Jews with rhetoric such as ‘Jews are in the gutter with the rats’. He should be nowhere near any mainstream political party, let alone lecturing Labour members about antisemitism thejc.com/news/uk-news/l…
3/4 This is why the @EHRC investigation is necessary. Secker has a track record regarding antisemitism but was praised by @jeremycorbyn as ‘the Jewish tradition I am interested in’. The Labour leadership interfered to get his antisemitism charges dropped thejc.com/news/uk-news/c…
4/4 The perpetrator of antisemitism is being shown favouritism and receiving special treatment by the Party. As they are only too aware, this adds insult to injury for the Jewish community. JVL should be proscribed, not promoted

2/5 The Sunday Times investigation reveals JVL leader Jonathan Rosenhead, who previously blamed ‘zionists’ for murders in the Holocaust, said:

‘I think this is an excellent idea. This would be turning their tactic against them’.
3/5 Their tactic was partially successful and the person remains under investigation by Labour. Meanwhile Sian Bloor was readmitted to Labour. Exonerating the perpetrator and punishing the whistleblower is institutional discrimination.

Labour Against the Witchhunt wouldn't even report a Nazi.

LAW have welcomed former MP Jim Sheridan's reinstatement by the party. He was suspended last summer over an #antisemitic statement he posted on Facebook. But LAW don't accept he did anything wrong in the first place. /1
When Labour members err, there ought to be opportunity for them to learn from the experience and make amends. But comrade Sheridan's statement after his suspension was lifted suggested his only regret was getting caught and he appeared to blame those who complained about him. /2
Let's recall what got him into trouble: Sheridan declared he had lost respect and empathy for an entire ethnic group - "the Jewish community" - due to events in @UKLabour. The #Holocaust, pogroms and persecution no longer moved him because of "their Blairite plotters". /3

Holocaust denial in the Labour Party? John Pocock, who says he's a @UKLabour member in Rossendale & Darwen, reckons that the only #antisemitism in the party comes from its Jewish members. /1
He wrote that in response to one of those 'show me the evidence' posts, so popular last summer, where Labour members express their puzzlement or cynicism about the motives of those raising concerns about antisemitism in the party. /2
Most comments followed the usual pattern of bewilderment, denialism and conspiracy theories - orchestrated claptrap, criticising Israel isn't antisemitic, etc. John Pocock's contribution seemed to go further but still earned seven 'likes', including from the original poster. /3

The @UKLabour / @jeremycorbyn #antisemitism issue shows no signs of abating. Unfortunately, there is even a difference of opinion on why this is, which is why I've been incredibly reluctant to write anything about it. Regardless, here's my perspective: /1
My entire life, I have been opposed to racism and prejudice in any form. This was instilled by my upbringing, personal experiences and natural inclination to defend others facing prejudice. As a teen, I was the one in school who stood up to bullying whenever I saw it happen. /2
I fought my own fights and the fights of people too scared or small to take action. It was a natural instinct. It got me into some trouble, but generally, what I did was appreciated by the victims of the abuse, the parents of the victims, teachers, bouncers and even the police /3

Lots of articles, some useful podcasts from some of the pro-Corbyn commentariat on left antisemitism but three words noticeably absent from the debate. Jewish. Labour. Movement.

Also, the role new-left media has played in fostering an antisemitic culture has been overlooked 2/
Opposing left wing antisemitism means challenging parts of new-left media where anti-Jewish bias is prevalent. There's just no way round this. Some specific examples: The Canary's been on a mission to normalise the Nazi metaphor with Israel. (Really helpful guys, thanks)
