If you’re ever wondering why touring musicians get down here is a great example: in the past few weeks I have been slapped, grabbed, had my hair pulled, my ribs grabbed too hard, & have had multiple photo/videos taken of me without my permission when I was unpresentable.
I understand now why years of this has taken its affect on Dani. He isn’t trying to be an asshole towards fans. He just doesn’t feel his boundaries are respected and therefore gets anxious and uncomfortable. I totally understand now.
We appreciate our fans, we love you guys, please understand how your behaviour can affect artists you’re meeting though. I’ve been through all of this and I still try to force a smile. What some people don’t know is it can be scary at times and lead to tears behind closed doors.
This is just scratching the surface. Many other incidents have occurred and if I was anyone else I would have just gone home. But I love my job and I love our fans and I’m strong enough to stick around. Love you guys, and 98% of you are incredible! Just some 2% food for thought.
