Sargon said something today that rang true to me. I’m paraphrasing from memory:
“A fascist is just a socialist who has stopped pretending he is seeking power over others for their own good.”

Everyone knows that radical Leftists don’t really mean much of what they say, that they are driven almost entirely by ressentiment and a nasty desire for unmerited power over others.
Or too commonly today, to keep the unmerited power over other that they already have by spinning and enforcing a moral narrative wherein they are “the good people” who (therefore) deserve to have power over everyone else (the evil, deplorable people).
