This tweet is mentioned in Svetlana Lokhova's new lawsuit against Stefan Halper and various media outlets as an example of the defamatory and false claims made by the media and spread by reporters who perpetuated the false Russia collusion hoax.
The lawsuit references a classic/typical "Russia collusion" WSJ story (wsj.com/articles/mike-…) in which
@CAROLELEE, @shaneharris and others printed false claims from anonymous sources about Lohkova in order to smear Michael Flynn. It's really bad.
You think the language in the lawsuit is unduly harsh and then you read @adamgoldmanNYT's headline...

Burr's subpeona makes so little sense and his committee has been such a non-player (apart from a staffer sleeping with a NYT national security reporter and sentenced for lying about the relationship during a leak investigation) that I'm honestly confused what he thinks he's doing
Hill sources suggest it's not intel community pulling strings or anything like that, just that he's easily controlled by Democrats on the committee and GOP Senate's anti-Trump leadership -- who aren't ready to give up leverage that Russia hoax gave them.
In any case, Burr apparently thinks he should be thanked for giving Democrats & media cover for their conspiracy theory hoax. May have been better for him to spend recent years performing oversight of agencies rather than running interference for them.

Holy ... FBI leaks to friendliest of reporters at the Times that they sent multiple overseas intelligence assets to entrap Trump aides as part of their operation against him. This leak is presumably trying to get ahead of Inspector General report. nytimes.com/2019/05/02/us/…
For not spying on the Trump campaign, there sure was a lot of spying on the Trump campaign.
One of the reporters on this story, incidentally, is mentioned *all over* the special counsel report, in curiously circular fashion. Perhaps more to say on that later.

UPDATE: FBI did NOT notify Trump campaign that campaign members were counterintel concerns. Lynch, Comey, and McCabe thought about it but didn't do it. Later general counterintel briefing did NOT mention FBI’s suspicions about Flynn, Manafort, Page, or Papadopoulos.

1. Wings says he is a media monitor. He claims I am the chief reporter of The Sunday Herald. This is incorrect, as even a cursory familiarity with Scottish news media would reveal.
2. Wings cites people who are angry because I have blocked them. I do block those who make false claims of misconduct, are abusive or spread Putin disinformation. I don't keep most of these people blocked for long but this is a work space and we journalists often need respite.
