Holy ... FBI leaks to friendliest of reporters at the Times that they sent multiple overseas intelligence assets to entrap Trump aides as part of their operation against him. This leak is presumably trying to get ahead of Inspector General report. nytimes.com/2019/05/02/us/…
For not spying on the Trump campaign, there sure was a lot of spying on the Trump campaign.
One of the reporters on this story, incidentally, is mentioned *all over* the special counsel report, in curiously circular fashion. Perhaps more to say on that later.
A reader points out that the NYT's spin is that they hid their spying on the Trump campaign for his sake, not because it would be devastating to the FBI for Americans to learn they were running overseas assets against domestic political opponents.

Burr's subpeona makes so little sense and his committee has been such a non-player (apart from a staffer sleeping with a NYT national security reporter and sentenced for lying about the relationship during a leak investigation) that I'm honestly confused what he thinks he's doing
Hill sources suggest it's not intel community pulling strings or anything like that, just that he's easily controlled by Democrats on the committee and GOP Senate's anti-Trump leadership -- who aren't ready to give up leverage that Russia hoax gave them.
In any case, Burr apparently thinks he should be thanked for giving Democrats & media cover for their conspiracy theory hoax. May have been better for him to spend recent years performing oversight of agencies rather than running interference for them.

UPDATE: FBI did NOT notify Trump campaign that campaign members were counterintel concerns. Lynch, Comey, and McCabe thought about it but didn't do it. Later general counterintel briefing did NOT mention FBI’s suspicions about Flynn, Manafort, Page, or Papadopoulos.

Honestly not sure what bubble is supposed to be burst here. Obviously dossier was just part of a larger information operation, one that must be fully investigated. It's the hoaxers who have veered wildly from standing behind dossier's supposed veracity to downplaying it.
It is absolutely true, however, that Clinton campaign's dossier was used by Obama's DOJ to secure wiretaps and other surveillance against Trump affiliates. That they might have displayed bad judgment by using other things doesn't negate that.
But if other people are finally joining those who have been trying to find believable answers about precisely how all this got started and was allowed to continue, and all the ways the operation was funneled in and through DOJ/State/etc., it's a good thing! Welcome!

Trump once said “Islam hates us”, today New Zealand’s terrorist praised him as a “symbol of renewed white identity”.
White nationalism has proven to be the “quite killer, but no one talks about the dangerous rhetoric white nationalists push through politicians and media pundits.

•Muslims were killed
•Didn’t call out the terrorist who praised him
•Muslims today didn’t just “sensesssly died” but they were “killed” in cold blood.
•“Best wishes” is not a condolence.
“#Hello Brother" were the last words by the first Muslim man to be shot and killed by the coward terrorist.
