As much as I understand this point, the problem is that the ballot box falls for the lies (also as they're not systematically being exposed for what they are, but relayed unchallenged.)
To the least it will bring the question "How can politicians be hold to account?" in the news.

But tbh I expect basically the same conclusion than Mueller's.
"It's not in our hands, only politicians can hold politicians accountable".

(I tend to think that quite a few politicians will not do anything to make sure they are hold accountable without truth-based, impartial media exposure generating public pressure.)
