Major League Baseball-it appears right now-avoided the gravest of tragedies last night.

We can all exhale & say ‘nets further down lines’ like players-Kris Bryant-have.

But we also have to ask ourselves how did last year’s death-YES, A DEATH FROM A FOUL BALL-go unaddressed?
Last year a Dodger fan was struck and killed. Her name was Linda Goldbloom. She was 79, celebrating her birthday & wedding anniversary at the game. This was not reported initially, cameras never captured it.

So is that February report the first time any one outside of the family, the Dodgers and Major League Baseball heard about it?

That is incomprehensible to me. This is not underreported, this is unreported. A failure in reporting of five months.
But that doesn’t even begin to address the Dodgers and Major League Baseball. Per the OTL report below find the team’s statement.
How can you read that any other way then,

‘the tragic matter that affects all fans who attend our games that we KNEW ABOUT AND NEVER TALKED ABOUT OUT LOUD has been addressed and we won’t comment further on it.’
I understand settlements, I can’t understand how the follow up question to Team/League isn’t ‘what will you do to prevent this from happening again in the future?’

How that conversation was never had/evaded/ignored is incomprehensible to me.
And then we thoughts and prayers our way thru last night.

If you’ve sat behind nets before-at hockey games or in the primo seats at a baseball game- you know you don’t even realize it’s there after while.
If you think the access fans have to players is so important, make them be able to come down before the game/after the game/during the 7th inning stretch.
