1. Contrary to popular belief, Brexits origins didn't begin with the tories, the whole debacle stared with the Libdems.
It was Nick Clegg himself who laid the gauntlet down for a referendum on our membership of the European Union.

2, But not only were the Libdems calling for a referendum, they were calling for a full in/out referendum, all or nothing to settle the on-going debate at the time.
3. As you can see, Labour refused, they never wanted a referendum, even the tories only wanted a few small changes to the Lisbon treaty, much as Labour do today. But it was the Liberal Democrats who pushed for a 'full on' in/out referendum, to settle the European Union question.
4. Two short years later, the Liberal Democrats were propping up the Tories in power and the promise of an EU referendum was made.
The rest is history.
The lib dems were the ones demanding a referendum and the tories, under Cameron were all too willing to oblige.
5. The brexit debacle is purely down to LidDem and Tory policy. They instigated the referendum and delivered it to the people of the UK.
Labour opposed it from the outset.
