I mean, the answer to this rather trollish headline is “yes, absolutely.” But a “movement” by definition never stops—if it does, it‘s history, not a path to the future. CRA launched a rocket; Searching, To All the Boys and #AlwaysBeMyMaybe kept it flying.

The biggest evidence Crazy Rich Asians changed things for Asians in Hollywood isn’t how many other movies have sprung up in the past year, because, uh, it takes more than a year to make a movie. It’s the fact that so many creators are now getting meetings they never had before.
It’s vital to self-audit and especially to reaffirm how important it is for us to wedge open doors in the open position. But it seems weird to me to build a piece around questioning the impact of a single film vs centuries of racist history, less than a year after its release.
