@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon Bang on. I would suggest a large part of the decision process:
1) the lack of support for IT or the Citrix team first to do the right thing for the business
2) a lack of talent to trust IT/Citrix team to execute
3) legitimate lack of talent
@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon The new world is automation. If you can’t have an @xenappblog -type environment because no one on your team can script... you will have a bad time. At one time I had a team of 6 and there was myself and one other who knew PowerShell. Business sees this as risky!
@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon @xenappblog Rightfully so! I had the opportunity to shape a team and my hiring priorities wasn’t experience or who you knew. It was did you know how to script-automate? How do you tackle new problems? How are you at learning new things? (And others)

But these were priorities.
@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon @xenappblog I fought like hell to hire someone with ZERO Citrix experience, but I knew they could learn it easily. They nailed all other qualifications. I didn’t get to see it through, but I know I left them in far better hands then if we chose a mouse-jockey with 18 years Citrix experience.
@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon @xenappblog Before my ability to forge a team, I’d have pushed LTSR all the way.

For all the wrong reasons.

Lack of talent. Lack of ability. Lack of skills.

When you possess these weaknesses, the greatest scenario for you, is environmental stability.
@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon @xenappblog Not “stability” like uptime. Stability like, “we’re still on Server 2003 because it works”.

It doesn’t work anymore.

You’re doing more damage than good “because it works”.

@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon @xenappblog Long story short: @reillyusa ‘s quote, “The gravitational force of those who don’t want to change, or can’t change, is incredibly strong”

Hit me hard and I wanted to share. Thanks for reading.
