Personal thread: Since I live in one of these cities where ICE is scheduled to do a mass raid tomorrow, I'm worried for my own safety as well as those dear to me. Mostly everyone I know was either born in the U.S. or became a naturalized citizen, however there are many in my

community who either are legal residents or are here illegally but are trying to make a better life here and are taking steps toward citizenship. This potential raid not only threatens those who are here illegally (and don't know U.S. laws) but the ones who are citizens can also

get arrested, lost in the cacophony of systemic racism, growing totalitarianism, and egregious violation of international human rights. It's not the first time I feel afraid, paranoid, or distrust the U.S. government, but it definitely is the first time I feel that discrimination

will take away everything my family fought so hard for be in vain. Why? Because our last name isn't WASPY enough? We speak a different language? We work harder for the jobs you don't want because we need them to survive? Perhaps when tomorrow comes, nothing will happen and I can

go about my day apathetically doing my personal work. But as the Japanese-Americans, the Jewish, the disabled, the Gypsies, the Catholics, political opposition, and anyone that were or are being sent to concentration camps can tell you, it doesn't matter whether you're a citizen.

If the country considers you an enemy of the state your rights and your life will be taken away. Thus I'll be on my guard, because it's only a matter of time before ICE will break through my door and no proof of citizenship, passport, voter's registration, etc. will convince them

to leave me alone. It shames me to say this but it is the truth and I pull no punches; my only saving grace may be the color of my skin. But at this point I don't think that will matter to this government. I speak a foreign tongue, I have a foreign name, thus I am an outsider.

To all of you who live in the cities that ICE will raid tomorrow and possess these traits, I wish you luck and always be on guard.
