How is this an actual CNN article?

It compares a case about whether the gov't can ask if someone is a citizen to Plessy v. Ferguson.

Also, "critics say" is just an obvious way for the author to push a ridiculous argument without admitting that it is one they agree with.
If that's what "critics" say, maybe you should stop paying attention to these critics and talk to some sane people.

I swear these guys are going to end up getting Trump re-elected.
This was supposed to be a news piece.They can't just report on the case and potential implications. They have to resort to comparing it to Jim Crow and segregation.

Then they will complain about how it's everyone else's fault that people don't trust them.
