A2 #AAUWAsks I’ve used summers to travel to archives for extended periods of time, to write & revise, to attend professional development events & to make long term plans.
A2 #AAUWAsks As a dissertating grad student I found @ncfdd’s Every Summer Needs a Plan workshop incredibly helpful. As an early career TT faculty member I benefitted from Duke’s SITPA program. This summer I’m renting a beach house with colleagues to do a 4 day writing retreat.
A2 #AAUWAsks Making plans that incorporate fun & relaxation in addition to work is also a key way to prevent burnout in my experience. Summer helps me remember what I love about research & being an academic.

On a daytime coffee date, a man told me about how he cured himself of epilepsy by using The Secret™️. At the end of the date he asked where I lived & I said, half jokingly “don’t be a stalker.” He replied “When you say that you’re telling the universe you want a stalker.” 😳😳😳
I walked the opposite direction of my house to a well-lit public park where I called a friend and sat for a while until I was sure he wasn’t following me. He texted me every day for two weeks after.
This is all to say: worst dates for women often mean harassment & violence rather than funny stories. #partypooper #MeToo #feministkilljoy

Don’t talk about #Stonewall50 if you’re not going to support trans ppl.
Don’t celebrate #Stonewall if you’re not going to fight for queer & trans ppl of color.
Don’t claim OUR history if you don’t intend to continue to struggle for freedom & justice for ALL queer & trans folks.
This means supporting sex workers.
This means fighting for disability justice.
This means condemning the prison industrial complex.
This means recognizing cis privilege.
This means no fucking cops & corporations at #Pride.
This means not being content until ALL OF US can live our lives free from racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, ableist, classist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic, Islamaphobic violence in a nation that provides the food, housing, education, & healthcare we need to thrive.

Thread: Throwing a badass inclusive, accessible, feminist party is a challenge yall. I bought food for so many different dietary needs, ensured my party space is wheelchair accessible & has plenty of seating for folks of all sizes.
I’m providing alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages & the first part of the night is family/kid friendly for my parent friends. I’ve got party favors, games, photo wall, & of course the pool.
In regard to guests bringing friends, I wrote that folks can bring whomever: “so long as your guests don’t do or say anything racist, sexist, homophobic, ableist or transphobic to other guests. In other words, bring ppl you trust to be good humans in a QTPOC-centered space.“

What's up with Jon and Dany?
Jon and Dany have been the traditional heroic fantasy protagonists from the beginning of the story. Both are long-lost heirs, start from low points, have magical adventures, build their way into power to save the world and win the throne. They are Luke Skywalker or Aragorn
In many ways, the story of Game of Thrones is that it begins as a simple story, Martin realizes he wants to make it complex and be about Cersei and Stannis and Margaery and Sansa and Littlefinger etc. But in the end...it's Jon and Dany.

Until now, the only SEO space where AMP was kind of "mandatory" was on news: if you want to appear on the "Top stories" box, you kind of need to have your articles to use AMP. You can appear there withouth AMP, but you don't get the same visual benefits #AMP #SEO .
Now Google is bringing "Stories" (like Instagram Stories, Snapchat Stories, etc.) to search results. They just announced it at #ampconf (see ) #AMP #SEO
This means that for certain kind of queries (by now: travel, and later also gaming, movies, tv and fashion) the first result will get another "special box" called "Visual Stories" where you can only appear using not only AMP, but AMP stories #AMP #SEO

Taejin idol au | ballad singer Seokjin is jaded after being forced to stay in the box with his genre; lead guitarist Taehyung of rock band Lost My Way feels like their album is missing that certain sound. Their worlds collide to remedy these problems.
Taehyung is frustrated. He--lead guitarist and singer--along with his bandmates--Jimin, on bass and Jungkook on drums--have been recording all day, but with little success. Something is just off, or missing.
As he listens back to one of their recordings, it hits him: he's sick of his own voice.

Not in an insecure, self deprecating, way, he knew he was a good singer, but...there was just too much of him. Creatively, he felt like they could expand these tracks if they had more vocals.
