Yesterday, I published an article about a Chinese surveillance tool. This morning, I received this private message.

This is what surveillance looks like. It's happening now. This is the reality
Without a WeChat account, your life is very complicated in China. They have to take care of what they are saying in their conversations in order to avoid a ban

Imagine the tech behind this, the IA, the number of operators, the data centers used to censor the WeChat conversations
This is sick. I will do my best to expose one by one these surveillance tools and provide the tools to fight this surveillance

We have to believe that everything is possible. Even if we fail, we will be on the good side of the history and we will be able to explain to our kids that we saw it coming and fight it as much as we can. Knowing that we will lose is not an excuse to not go to the fight.

I grow up in Dun Laoghaire, studied medicine in Trinity and worked as a junior doctor in various hospitals around the country including Limerick, Portlaoise and Dublin before completing my GP training in Edinburgh.
