@HarounRashid2 #Monasteries were the bastion of discovery and enquiry. Monasteries were cradles of literacy, nurtured and conserved the masterpieces works by Cicero, Virgil, Ovid, and Aristotle. They were the harbinger of the Universities assembling the best setting for the ideal knowledge.
@HarounRashid2 The Monastic trend was built around the #Rule_of_Benedict. Benedict 1,500 years ago had come up with a guide for developing sustainable communities to play a key role in conserving the knowledge of the past and building a social fabric that delivered durable climate for growth.
@HarounRashid2 Benedict's rule for beginners put all of the members irrespective of age, wealth, and prominence on the same footing. The rank in a cross-generational community, from youths to men of advanced years, who go on living together year after year was governed by a chosen #abbot.

Received a fantastic message from my brother @soodparivar captioned The Empty Boat and found the #PearlsOfWisdom #TooGoodNotToShare

A #monk decides to #meditate alone, away from his #monastery.

He takes his boat out to the middle of the lake, moors it there, closes his eyes and begins his meditation.

After a few hours of undisturbed silence, he suddenly feels the bump of another boat colliding with his own
With his eyes still closed, he senses his anger rising & by the time he opens his eyes, he is ready to scream at the boatman who dared disturb his meditation. But when he opens his eyes,he sees it’s an empty boat that had probably got untethered & floated to the middle of the lake
