I know folks are fighting 101 injustices, but is anyone going after these abominations?
They waste fuel prodigiously, tripling carbon footprint of guests.
They dodge corporate income taxes and labor protections, and pay shockingly low wages.
They damage fragile ocean ecosystems.
They create massive, harmful air pollution.
Two of the main cruise companies that come to our city have F and C- ratings from Friends of the Earth.
They clog up the Market with people who buy nada. They barely use our hotels and shops; net economic input is $50/person.

Here’s recent news about a lawsuit against princess cruises dumping oil-contaminated waste into the ocean and falsifying logs to cover it up, from the PSBJ.
I wish local media or the City could make the time to investigate the reality of environmental damage, labor injustices and violations, questionable takings of public streets, pollution to local air and answer - is it worth it, all for $50-$60 per passenger spending?
