While one can argue Commissioners should be directly elected (counters below*), Commissioners are appointed by heads of government who are *usually* democratically put in place by the whole population of each country. Rather than just by 160,000 of its most Conservative citizens.

One could also argue that directly electing the Commission rather than having the national heads of government do it would be a significant step towards the very EU superstate the eurosceptics fear and also that it would have an even lower turnout than the Parliament elections
And at the same time we do need to remember what the Commission is and does:

The people who argued throughout a society-shredding referendum that we'd get a great deal if we voted for Brexit because of how badly the EU need us, should not be allowed to say people voted for No Deal.

There are few moral absolutes in this world. That's one of them.

My first office job after uni was working for a company in Worcester that sold roofing materials to construction firms in France. There were no tariffs on their goods which is why they could afford to bring in a fresh young bilingual law grad to represent them.

Elections used to be run on who could do more for the NHS/Economy.
I want future campaigns to be like: "I'll bring fast north-south rail to Wales, east-west rail to North England, Green tech hub to Motherwell, more respect for Northern Ireland, devolution etc..."

Some of the parties are starting to see that Brexit was partly a demand for them to #InvestInTheRest. Even the Brexit Party is talking about it, which is interesting coming from a man who says he want to shrink the size of the state. (It's bull)
This is part of why @UKLabour has to campaign hard for a Public Vote, because with the Brexit Party now promising to invest in forgotten regions as well, Labour MUST make sure everyone can see a clear difference between Labour's socialism and the "nationalists' socialism".

The argument here is that the EU is undemocratic because its commissioners are appointed by heads of state.

Heads of state are democratically elected.
One of the main problems with the EU, and why both the far-left and the far-right hate it so much, is that it doesn't fall neatly along the capitalism vs. socialism spectrum.
On one hand, the EU is responsible for some of the strongest worker and consumer protections of the last four decades. Member states are barred from enacting the race-to-the-bottom handouts we saw in the New York deal with Amazon. Yay socialism, right?

And this is your not-so-friendly reminder that the “resistance” eagerly embraced Frum, a Bush speech writer, because he opposes Trump. Trump is the fruition of those Bush years. Racist, misogynist, Islamophobic.
White Americans’ willful amnesia is what brings us support for Frum as part of the “resistance” and also the “this isn’t my America” inanities. All connected. If none of this hate affects you personally, it’s easy to forget.

Luxurious busses, moving from one part of the country to another need to be properly checked and also regulated by the ministry of transport or whatever body that govern the business.

I have had enough experience with them and I believe it time to put an end to this.

In 2018 alone izuchukwu transport company dissapointed me on 4 occasions moving from lagos- Aba.

Same last year there's a particular green bus with the sure-p label at the top also used almost 3days from Aba-kano.

The most painfull one is young shall grow motors....
This happened this morning the bus moving from pH to Lagos broke down at almost every junction.

If it's not brain box, it will be Baloon or Tyre etc.

Most of this operators know but they deliberately collect cash from people and allow them suffer. Very sad.

2/ Opponents of the "administrative state" frame their key premise like this: although many members of our government are elected, there are thousands of unelected administrators with responsibilities that collectively overwhelm the authority of elected officials.
3/ While there are many such unelected officials in government, an enormous proportion of them are appointed directly by elected officials. So voters need to keep in mind that when we vote for a candidate, we are, by extension, voting for these appointed administrators.

2. For those following along, that FISA RULE means the denied FISA warrant from June 2016 led to the same FISA judge approving the FISA warrant in October 2016.
3. Whoever was the judge who denied the DOB/FBI FISA application in June 2016 would, by rule, be the only judge who could approve the DOJ/FBI FISA application in October 2016. Most likely that was Judge Rudolph Contreras.
