Car parks take over valuable retail property space to accommodate them and they begrudgingly pay for the storage of their property.

They expect obedience of the rules and laws that were put in place, mainly for their benefit while crying "The War on the Motorist" when those rules are enforced against them. So are let off, pleading "exceptional hardship."

They kill, on average, 5 people per day and injure many more and it's mostly viewed as hard luck.

Many more suffer the effects of their pollution, leading to reduced quality of life and premature death.
But that's not enough.
People restrict their freedom, choosing not to use particular public roads, for fear of being killed.
But that's not enough.
They're encouraged by the media and government.
But still, not enough.
For all of that, they pay a contribution for the cost they impose on society via VED and fuel tax.
