Heading out the door to go get ice cream. Neighbors’ kids come walking up with a soccer ball looking for my son.

Him: 👀

Me: (sigh) Go play

Him: I don’t want to blow you off

Me: (sigggggh) It’s fine

Him: Thx dad! (Runs off)

I was so close. I already had a flavor picked out.

I was going to get a flavor consisting of chocolate covered pretzels, caramel, peanut butter and chocolate chips in vanilla ice cream.

Now, I lay here in a tormented sadness.

For those suggesting I go myself, no can do.

The place is the next up on my son and my tour of good ice cream places around the state.

Don’t want to go w/o him and it’s a drive.
