#BorderCrisis Peak, #Mexico Cooperation, and Judicial Wrangling

The year began with President Trump declaring a #NationalEmergency at the southern #Border. theepochtimes.com/year-in-review…
The #BorderCrisis escalated, and in May, nearly 133,000 #IllegalAliens were apprehended by #BorderPatrol, with a further 11,000 presenting at ports of entry without legal documentation.

By the end of fiscal 2019, almost 1 million people had entered the US illegally.
Over 600,000 of them were either individuals within a family unit or unaccompanied minors—both vulnerable populations that often arrived sick and required more care than #BorderPatrol was set up to provide.

Day 3 - last day of #ICJ provisional measures hearings, #TheGambia v #Myanmar #GenocideConvention #Rohingya. First up, #TheGambia Reichler: Myanmar not denied UN #FFM conclusion of “inference of genocidal intent” or the 7 indicators; 2019 report para 224 - extreme brutality;
Quoted ASSK admission of #IHL violations; ignoring of #sexual violence; #hate narratives - commander in chief Min Aung Hlaing #Facebook page quoted; discriminatory policies including #citizenship law & NVC process; govt tolerance of hate; failure to investigate prosecute
This last one was the only point disputed by Myanmar - “what state is she talking about?” - military justice system must investigate & prosecute - difficulties admitted by ASSK; how can the #Tatmadaw hold itself accountable when top 6 commanders recommend for prosecution?

Ok folks - Day 2 of the #ICJ #Gambia v #Myanmar provisional measures hearings going to start - important as no submissions yet by Myanmar so, first formal indication of their legal strategy. [I’ll be away on an interview for a bit so hoping we have other “live tweeters”?? :)]
Agent of Myanmar: #ASSK takes the floor as minister for foreign affairs (is this the first time an agent doesn’t have a legal background); #genocide convention “wholeheartedly” signed by Myanmar; not applied to Kosovo or exodus of Serb population from Croatia. No Specific intent
Incorrect factual situation presented to court; though suffering of innocent people. #Rakhine state background - internal armed conflict; Arakan army seeks independence; displacement & conflict, affecting civilians

Trump unleashed barrage of racist, anti-immigrant tweets directed at 4 Democratic congresswomen of color. He demanded the 4 “go back to the crime-infested places from where they came.”

(1) The whole "#Deportation" phenomenon by #ICE is a farce, facilitated by the present administration.

I am pro-#ICE and pro-#CBP, but they do not have enough manpower to deport illegals to the extent we need.

This is a "Wag The Dog," scenario, being utilized to distract ....
(2) from at least four major issues: the flood of 300,000-400,000 inbound illegals per month, the failure to build a wall and/or deploy troops, and the failure to address any of these issues through legislation.

Our country is falling and falling fast, via the ....
(3) #ClowardPiven take-down strategy (see attached).

It's the ultimate, modern-day Trojan Horse.

Hey #MAGA crowd, we aren't "winning."

We're losing and in 2024, the #IslamoMarxist government will be ushered in, whether under acknowledged socialist #IvankaTrump ....

Dear #MAGA #Desis & other assorted non-white ppl who support Republicans because of anti-blackness or lower taxes or the feeling of proximity to power, observe this pattern of escalating & widening targeting in #immigration policy & #deportation:
1. Criminal illegal aliens "bad hombres"
2. All undocumented immigrants
3. End TPS "Temporary Protected Status"
4. End family preference in green cards "chain migration"
5. Reduce/eliminate residency lottery
6. Review citizenship applications for fraud & revoke citizenship &
deport ppl who've been here for decades
7. End birthright citizenship for children of undocumented migrants
8. Muslim ban
9. Revoke residency visa for people who have used certain public welfare benefits

I've probably forgotten some other measures, and no doubt there are more

“My biggest fear is my Commander will call ICE”

Unfuckingbelievable. This kind of scapegoating and betrayal after giving up your life to become part of the shrinking pool of people who serve in uniform, is unconscionable and dangerous #WhereisMattis #VetsAgainstTrump
What is unfathomable is the hypocrisy. This soldier clearly passed the Army’s standards & requirements- around training, health, behavior/comportment- kept her nose clean, did her job for 4 yrs. All just for this soldier to be kicked out w no real cause & risk #deportation.
You know how isn’t always kicked out of our #military with this kind of vigor?

Sexual predators and criminals

Corrupt, fraud-waste power abusers

Dirtbags

White supremacists

Hyper-religious homophobic commanders who still don’t respect or uphold open service policies

The horrific #Goodlatte #immigration bill soon up for debate isn't something to be "compromised" with. It's a harsh, intentional, irrevocable shift Trumpward.

Shred it.

Burn the ashes.

Scatter them upon the Antarctic plains.

Here are just a few of many reasons.
(1) CRIMINALIZATION of unlawful presence in the United States: White supremacy writ into law. For past 228 years, simply *being in U.S.* w/o permission was a civil offense w/no consequence other than deportation.
(NB: This was quickly rejected in 2005, but much more likely now)
(2) ONE HUNDRED THIRTY BILLION UNITED STATES TAXPAYER DOLLARS to fully militarize the Mexican border.

Even @Heritage, which otherwise mostly likes the bill, balked at this as "hard to justify." You don't say.
