The House has voted 230-198 to hold AG Barr and Commerce Sec. Ross in criminal contempt for not complying with a committee subpoena for materials about the census citizenship question. This is a criminal contempt resolution; the House prev. voted to hold Barr in civil contempt
A civil contempt vote means the House can go to court to sue to enforce its subpoena. A criminal contempt vote means the House makes a referral to DOJ (historically the US attorney's office in DC), which then decides whether to convene a grand jury (extremely unlikely)

This isn't the last word - assuming the committee approves the resolution, it would then go to the full House for a final contempt vote. The House yesterday also passed a resolution that empowers committee chairs to go to court to enforce subpoenas, see: govinfo.gov/content/pkg/BI…

#BREAKING: The House Oversight Committee just announced they will move forward w/ a vote to hold Attorney General Bill Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with subpoenas. Vote to be held Thursday, per Chairman Elijah Cummings.
In letters to Wilbur Ross and Bill Barr, House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings announced plans for a contempt vote, writing:

“[Y]our actions are part of a pattern. The Trump Administration has been engaged in one of the most unprecedented cover-ups since Watergate ...” 1/
Rep. Cummings: “The tactics of this cover-up are now clear. The Administration has been challenging Congress’ core authority to conduct oversight...and making baseless legal arguments to avoid producing documents & testimony. ... This cover-up is being directed from the top.”
