X : Do you look at my IT strategy?
Me : I did.

Me : Well, it wasn't the lack of user needs or maps or any situational awareness that annoyed me.
X : Oh. What did?
Me : The document followed a path of "If Hybrid / Kubernetes is the answer, what are the questions?"
X : That's not fair.
Me : In the opening paragraphs of the narrative, I already knew the end of the story. It's like one of those bad detective novels ... "it was the butler wot dunnit". It didn't surprise me that you avoided maps, it's far harder for anyone to challenge a story.
... I normally only see this type of story when someone starts with very preconcieved notions of how it will end / what the solution is. I actually wrote down the list of "surprise turns" before I got there, it was that predictable.
