According to this Nobel Prize winner's analysis of how interventions can reduce racial inequality, you find that a) stopping black male crime benefits everyone (true!) and b) you can raise marginalized groups' income by increasing their age-5 IQ (false!)

I did a deep, head-hurting read of this. And found that ~70% of the economic benefits of the interventions for black men involved stopping them from committing crimes.

The IQ side is based on taking the study's other positive outcomes, then adding predicted income advances from raising IQ between ages 5-7—but IQ interventions always fade, and are worthless among youngest children. This is cherry-picking the worst data to provide a conclusion.

Many of the seemingly-true positive outcomes arrive from... taking black boys away from their single mothers and sticking them in 9-hour daycare + education so their moms can work

The implications are problematic at best

@Steve_Sailer I see you've written about Heckman, I'm just a foolish internet anon, but check out the parts on crime and then IQ, and see how little else remains

@Steve_Sailer This is the nitty-gritty IQ section, which I read 20 times to try to make sure I had it right—I see no other explanation than that Heckman took false + misleading IQ data and extrapolated it over the time of his longer study to exaggerate his own (heavily crime-based) findings

@Steve_Sailer Which isn't to say that he intentionally distorted the data—but rather that he was working from assumptions that, unbeknownst to him, are false, and led to more pleasing outcomes for his study

Although the difficulty it took to understand what exactly he was saying makes it iffy
