Like many of you, I was reading the October 23, 1972 issue of Electronics magazine when I woke up early today and couldn't sleep. One article I read was about the IBM 370/125 (which was the bottom of the 370 line) renting for between $8,207 and $13,794 and selling for $602,620!
On page 151 of that 1972 issue of Electronics was a small notice about a company named Intel offering a prototype board that used "a computer on a chip, the type 8008 eight/bit central processing unit." Price was $900. Do you think Intel eventually impacted IBM mainframe sales?

Adventure Club is a sneaker subscription for kids ages two through 10: four pairs of sneakers a year for $20 a month, six pairs for $30 a month or 12 pairs for $50 a month from a selection of ~100 sneakers.

There are terms Nike can adopt to cut customer acquisition cost. For example, this means a customer gives up less optionality: "parents to can upgrade or downgrade their subscription at any time, or even put it on pause." Shoes are shipped directly to the customer (no retailer).
The best way to sort out unit economics is: "Nike has been testing the program since 2017, when it was known as Easy Kicks. The test reached 10,000 members." Others are in the market with subscription offers so looking at comps is helpful in planning: google.com/amp/s/techcrun…

Trying to appease, is a waste of precious life force, when there are so many who need what we have to offer. People want hope, joy, kindness. So many wanting, we can't even keep up. May the hate distractions fail. We don't have time for it
In my "old life", I received a lot of unfair criticism (sometimes idiotic, unrelated criticism). I'd try to work out how I could fix it, please people so they'd not be hateful. Eventually I realized that I was being unprofessional. I had to stick with my decisions & let haters go

I hadn't seen her all winter -- she has a den like, 20 feet behind the writer's shed, caddy-corner, and I'd seen her prints, but no fox. I'd seen a much darker fox around -- really moving fast, no photos. But not the one from years previous.

Once upon a time, there was a prince named Gabriel who lived in a shrinking kingdom. A blight had swept in from the east, withering plants, sickening animals, and fouling the water. It left behind a great waste where nothing would grow and no one could survive.
For years, the king held audience with anyone who claimed to be able to halt the spread of the blight and restore life to the waste, but no one—from farmers with knowledge of the land, to sorcerers with arcane magics—could find a solution.
Rumor held that a powerful faerie had cursed the kingdom over a slight, real or perceived, and that was why no human magic could reverse the devastation. People were forced from their homes. Some fled west, toward the capital at the foot of the mountains, some to other countries.
