Been seeing a lot of adverts for @RegentU of late.

Back in 2004-2011, I directed Regent Law School's Capitol Hill semester program, taught a three hour course on advanced constitutional law, taught an hour course on legal practice, and supervised writing and advocacy experiences
that satisfied the Law School's upper level requirements in both areas.

When I tease @Tribelaw about his #plagiarism, it's always twinged with the memory of one of my students asking me a question about the ethics of ghost-writing during my legal practice course.
@tribelaw As a general rule, judges loathe the ghost written product. It essentially means that someone who didn't do the research and analysis is now standing in front of them, and often unable to go into the depth that a judge might desire when addressing difficult questions.
Then there's the whole ethical dimension of misrepresenting who wrote the product that was sitting before the court.

But my student's question wasn't related to courtroom practice.
Instead, he was concerned about the ethics of having written the doctoral dissertation of @ACLJ's Chief Counsel, @JaySekulow.

There's no moment so uncomfortable as when a student, in front of a group of law students reveals that
your boss, a person you thought of as your close colleague, a person for whom you had written many briefs, many memos, many press releases, a person who often sent you in his place to appear on TV or to speak to various groups,
was seeking a Doctoral Degree from Regent University based on the research and writing of a paid intern.
