1) Let me provide some useful information about John Turano, aka "Based Spartan," who along with his adult daughter Bianca was attacked by antifascists today in Portland. You've all seen the video. It's ugly. (Via @RVAwonk) Short thread follows.
@RVAwonk 2) First, it goes without saying that no one deserves assault. However, when it comes to Turano, the likelihood he had something to do with provoking it is high. Certainly we can see him being an aggressor in the video. Not that that's an excuse. Tempers were high today.
@RVAwonk 3) So, about Based Spartan and his daughter Bianca, who is actually in her 20s. I've covered about 16 of these events now, and Turano has been at a buttload of them, wearing his faux Spartan armor and threatening to beat antifascists. 
@RVAwonk 4) When he removes the armor, you can see his tattoos. On the back left shoulder, he has "White." On the right, "Pride."
@RVAwonk 5) As you may have noticed, Bianca travels with him from California for all these events. I first saw her with him at the ugly Berkeley riot of April 15, 2017.
@RVAwonk 6) We first saw the two of them in Portland on June 15, 2017, for the Patriot Prayer shit show that shortly followed the MAX train murders by a onetime PP marcher.
@RVAwonk 7) Turano went through a period where he disavowed the Proud Boys and reaped some brief publicity from it.

@RVAwonk 9) In any event, Turano's apostacy didn't last long. We saw the two of them back in Portland, marching happily with Patriot Prayer, at the ugly June 30 event that turned extremely violent.

@RVAwonk 10) Again, it goes without saying that no one deserves to be assaulted. However, it's worth keeping in mind that we're talking about the equivalent of the guy who walks into a biker bar and announces that all Harley riders are pussies. With his daughter in tow.
