Okk need to talk about this now. After Himanta Biswa Sharma’s statement and also what @SouleFacts says , it seems clear that whatever this article by @joyincal09 in @SwarajyaMag says about #NRCassam #NRCFinalList is true !! Do READ ENTIRE ARTICLE swarajyamag.com/politics/why-a…

(1/n)
“in the end, it may well be the names of a huge number of Hindus — mostly Bengalis, but also Assamese — and indigenous people like Bodos, Karbis, Dimasas, Rabhas etc — that will be left out of the final NRC that will be published on Saturday (31 August).” (2/n)
“Logically speaking, the maximum number of exclusions (of names from the draft NRC) should have been reported from the districts along the India-Bangladesh border that have a huge presence of Bangladeshis who have settled down there illegally,” (3/n)
“Instead, maximum number of exclusions is from districts that don’t have much of a presence of Bangladeshi infiltrators,” “Many Bangladeshi nationals were working in NRC Seva Kendras, where documents submitted by people who want their names included in NRC are scrutinised.” (4/n)
Do read the article as several examples of what I said in tweet 2,3,4 are given there.
All of these are statements and allegations made by various leaders of BJP and the students’ movements. (5/n)
BJP leaders say the Supreme Court’s directive in July 2017 barring the state government from interfering in the NRC updation exercise has led to subversion of the whole process by inclusion of names of Bangladeshi nationals.

this is the summary of futility of NRC exercise (6/n)
The Union and Assam governments had pleaded before the Supreme Court last month for sample re-verification of 20 per cent of the names included in the draft NRC in districts along the India-Bangladesh border and 10 per cent of the names in the remaining districts. (7/n)
But the Supreme Court turned down the plea after NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela told the apex court that a sample re-verification of documents and antecedents of 27 per cent of those whose names appeared in the draft NRC have already been carried out. (8/n)
This has upset the BJP and brought Hajela in the line of fire.
“On what basis has Hajela said that? A third party should do the re-verification, how can Hajela re-verify his own work,” asked BJP’s Silchar Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Rajdeep Roy. (9/n)
So first Supreme Court does not allow elected state BJP government to interfere in the entire NRC process. Next it refuses reverification requests.
This #NRCassam #NRCFinalList is thus another case of judicial nonsense. (10/n)
This makes me reluctant for a Nationwide NRC as promised in the Bjp Manifesto. As there is ABSOLUTELY NO POINT if the elected BJP govt is not allowed to interfere in it. Also ,if govt is allowed to, then to several corrupt Hindu officials will sell of their Country. (11/n)
What @himantabiswa is saying only confirms that what @joyincal09 has said in above article seems to be true !!
Hope @narendramodi @AmitShah @sarbanandsonwal find some solution soon to this #NRCassam #NRCFinalList mess created by Supreme Court (12/n)
swarajyamag.com/insta/lost-all…
Now here comes the next article by @joyincal09 on #NRCassam #NRCFinalList in @SwarajyaMag ! Do read this entire article on how the entire NRC process has been sabotaged by Supreme Court and Dhongress party ! (13/n) swarajyamag.com/politics/long-…
Justice Ranjan Gogoi (current CJI) ordered the NRC updation exercise in 2013 due to petitions filed by citizen’s groups
The then Dhongress government in Assam started preparing for the exercise and finalising the rules and procedures for the exercise. (14/n)
The entire process — what documents had to be submitted for inclusion of names in the NRC, how they would be verified and cross-checked et al — was laid down by the then Congress government in Assam headed by Tarun Gogoi.
It was, of course, vetted by the Supreme Court. (15/n)
Now it is well known that these Bangladeshis are Dhongress votebank. The Tarun Gogoi government was fully aware that most of the Bangladeshi Muslims in Assam had obtained those documents through bribery and fraud. (16/n)
And hence, say some BJP leaders, the rules and procedures for NRC updation were deliberately rigged and loopholes created to help the illegal Muslims immigrants. I would once again suggest to read both articles in tweet 1 and tweet 13. In that order. (17/n)
while Muslim immigrants from Bangladesh have been very particular about obtaining documents like fake birth certificates or fake school certificates that enabled their obtaining voter ID cards n ration cards, Hindus fleeing Bangladesh have been very negligent on this count.(18/n)
The Tarun Gogoi government knew this very well, and allegedly designed the rules and procedures governing the updation exercise in a manner that would help the Bangladeshi infiltrators. (19/n)
BJP, which came to power in Assam in 2016, soon realised that the NRC updation exercise was not progressing in a proper manner. The BJP realised that the entire process had many flaws n many government officials entrusted with this exercise were not being diligent enough. (20/n)
Many cases of officials taking bribes from Bangladeshi Muslims 2 turn a blind eye 2 fake n forged documents they submitted,or favouring infiltrators, also came 2 light. It May b recalled from article in tweet 1 that Bangladeshis themselves were working as NRC coordinators (21/n)
Unfortunately, when the state government started scrutinising the exercise and attempted to correct the flaws, the Supreme Court ordered it to keep away from the exercise. Just as I said in tweet 6. (22/n)
The Supreme Court also ordered the NRC coordinator, Prateek Hajela, not to share any data or details about the exercise with the state government or any other authority or establishment without the consent of the apex court. (23/n)
Thus ,summary of #NRCassam #NRCFinalList mess in Assam is that when current CJI ordered NRC updation in 2013, the Assam Dhongress Government designed a flawed process and when the BJP government tried to correct it , SC stopped it from any interference and access to data (24/n)
The result is that , Preliminary scanning of the final NRC and tallying of it with the draft NRC published in July last year reveals that more than 13 lakh of the 19 lakh excluded from the final NRC are Hindus, and nearly 11 lakh are Bengali Hindus. (25/n)
As if this is not enough ,according to some reports, the claims of many of the Muslims (whose names have not figured in the final NRC) had been rejected on minor grounds like errors in the spellings of their names, parents’ names or places of residence. (26/n)
That means that when they appeal before the Foreigners’ Tribunals, there is a very high chance of their appeals being upheld.
And then, their names, too, will be included in the final NRC. #NRCassam #NRCFinalList (27/n)
The final NRC has come as a huge letdown for Assam and its indigenous people. The state has paid a high price for the entire exercise. Apart from the Rs 1,200-crore spent on the exercise, 52,000 government officials were involved in the updation process. (28/n)
Many development works suffered as most of these officials had to spend time almost exclusively on the #NRCassam updation work instead of their official work.
And at the end of it all, it is the native Assamese who has been shortchanged. #NRCFinalList (29/n)
I hope that @narendramodi @AmitShah @himantabiswa @sarbanandsonwal do find a way out using their increased strength in both houses of Parliament. Please do not allow Supreme Court to wreak havoc. Go for a cross checking atleast in border districts without SC monitoring. (30/n)
