I’m single for the first time in 12+ years. And I recently joined a dating app. Just to see what’s out there.

Spoiler alert: it’s basically a huge compendium of #DouchebagQualifications.

ESPECIALLY if you’re an opinionated, liberal woman. (THREAD)

I’m in my late 30s and have no time or patience for men who support Trump or are anti-choice.

So I’m actively using these issues as screening questions.

First guy — nice, handsome, we had good banter going. Then I asked whether he’s pro-choice.

I asked if he was a Trump supporter and it went downhill from there:

But seriously, I don’t just vote with my politics, I date with them too.

I’ve been told several times - by well meaning folks in my life - that I shouldn’t do this. That politics aren’t personal.

Only someone in an extreme position of privilege could say that.

Politics ARE personal when my body is being legislated, when groups of people are singled out for modern day concentration camps, when my fucking planet is being destroyed.

Moral of the story: I’d rather sleep alone for the rest of my life than share my time and energy with a person who supports Trump.
