Best advice I can give re: options (that I still need to be better with myself) is don't put on positions till ~3:30 pm
Unless ur scalping it's basically guaranteed a money sink.
In addition to this: IV, can't stress this enough is better than any indicator you will find on a chart. If u know a few names well and know when preem is juiced vs not u can catch some serious plays. If u see IV notably cheaper on one side that's what you want.
That being said once you purchase an option and notice a jump in IV (stock hasn't moved and premium goes up, or stock moves against you but opt price is the same) it typically means you will get a reasonable move. A little tip from my experience, hope it helps.
Nothing is 100% but it helps with clues and is something to be cognizant of as u can gain an edge. For example: on the tweet from a course weeks ago we got a move from 292s to 283 on $spy and caught it via noticing IV.
