Imperialist narratives consistently rely on shifting the burden of proof. It's not anyone's job to provide "evidence the drones originated in Yemen", it's the US government's job to provide conclusive proof for its claim that they originated in Iran.
Burden of proof should be a universal principle, especially with regard to accusations made by an empire with an extensive history of lying to advance geostrategic interests. But it isn't. You can predict which Americans will believe Pompeo's claims by who they voted for in 2016.
One of the absolute stupidest things about US politics is how they made regime change in Iran vs regime change in Syria a partisan wedge issue, and partisans only question possible false flags based on which of those agendas their team cheers for.
